There are hundreds of ancient symbols that have evolved into our universal stories. But where do they come from?

Carl Gustav Jung postulated that we, the human species, share arcane stories and images passed down in our psyche like genetics from our earliest evolutionary ancestors.

The purpose of The Jung School is to reacquaint the modern artist--you creators, writers, filmmakers, painters--with these ancient ideas.

THE JUNG SCHOOL

was founded in the fall of 2022.

After first being introduced to Carl Jung and his theories on art after reading Synchronicity and The Spirit in Man, Art, and Literature, Stefan van de Graaff delved into his teachings on primordial images, mandalas, and analytical psychology and their impacts on world art and story.

The Jung School, and its approach to creativity, also features much from Joseph Campbell's theories on the monomyth; UC Berkeley's groundbreaking research on awe and the sublime; components from German Romanticism and 20th century Surrealism; as well as teachings from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and transcendental meditation.

Stefan is a writer, director, and founder of Chamber Media. His work extends across advertising, narrative features, and theater.
